About Expat Mail
An independent guide, styled as a newspaper, built around the one thing that trips up most new arrivals first: getting mobile.
Why We Started Here
Expat Mail exists because getting set up in the UK as an expat — or relocating staff from overseas as a business — involves the same frustrating gap over and over again: none of the systems here are built around people without UK history yet.
We focus first on car leasing and subscriptions, for individuals and for the UK businesses relocating them, because transport is usually the first thing that stalls a move. From there, we cover the rest of what it takes to get properly set up: housing, insurance, banking and utilities — and we run a daily wire of expat news alongside it, front-page style.
Independence
Expat Mail is an independent publisher. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or in partnership with The Expat Marketplace or any of the specific car leasing, insurance or comparison providers named across this site, unless explicitly stated.
Company and provider names are included because they publicly advertise expat-friendly services relevant to the topic at hand — always confirm current pricing, eligibility and terms directly with the provider before applying.
How We Put This Together
Independently Researched
Content is based on publicly available provider information and general UK relocation guidance, reviewed and written in our own words.
Kept Current
Pages are periodically reviewed and updated — check the “last updated” note at the top of each guide.
Not Financial or Legal Advice
General information only. For anything tax, legal or financial, speak to a qualified professional about your specific circumstances.
How This Site Is Funded
Expat Mail is currently free to use for everyone. Some outbound links may become affiliate or referral links over time, meaning we could earn a commission if you go on to use a provider’s service — this never affects which providers we mention or what we say about them.
Where a link is a paid affiliate relationship, we will say so clearly on the page. Our expat news wire is syndicated from The Expat Marketplace with attribution and a link back to every original article — we do not claim authorship of that content.
